Napoleon Crossing the Alps is perhaps the most famous painting of Napoleon. It depicts Napoleon's daring cross of the St. Bernard Pass before the Battle of Marengo in 1800. The painting, by famed Napoleon painter Jacques-Louis David, has become an icon of the Napoleonic era.
